KORN
ヘヴィロックの重鎮。９０年代後半のシーンを引っ張っていたバンドです。一聴してこのバンドとわかる歪んだ重低音と表現力豊かなヴォーカルが特徴。
２００４年発表。初のベストアルバム。１，２曲目はカヴァー、その後は新しいアルバム（６枚目）から古いアルバムに時代を遡って行くように曲が並んでいます。初めてKORNを聴く人は、このアルバムから入ると良さそうです。
１９９４年発表のデビューアルバム。２枚目の「Life is Peachy」を聴いて衝撃を受けてこのアルバムを聴きましたが、曲の出来はこっちの方が上だと思います。異常に重く歪んだ音は、たぶん好き嫌いが分かれると思いますが、未聴の人は１度聴いて欲しいです。１、６曲目とかはこの間もライブでやってました。個人的には７曲目が好きです。ヴォーカルが泣き叫ぶ１２曲目とか聴きどころ満載。
２００３年発表の６枚目アルバム。KORNとしては久々に納得できるアルバムです。個人的には４、５枚目はあまり良いと思えなかったのでうれしいです。おすすめは１、２、１２曲目。
１９９６年発表の２枚目。KORNとの出会いはこのアルバムでした。１曲目の“Twist”は衝撃的です。何を言ってるかさっぱりわかりません。面白いからしばらく携帯の着メロにしてました。基本的に１枚目の延長線上にあると思いますが、こっちの方がわかりやすい曲が多いと思います。１、２、６、１１、１４曲目がおすすめ。１１曲目は“A.D.I.D.A.S.”という曲ですが、“All Day I Dream About Sex”の略です。
