DEF LEPPARD
BON JOVIと並び称される８０年代を代表するイギリスのハードロックバンド。ドラマーが事故で片腕になったり、ギタリストが亡くなったりと不運にも見舞われてますが、普段、ロックを聴かない層にも受け入れられて、１，０００万枚以上売れたアルバムも何枚かあります。コーラスの使い方など「DEF LEPPARDらしさ」を確立してます。ポップなロックが好きな人、全員におすすめしたいバンドです。
１９８７年発表の４枚目。DEF LEPPARD最大のヒットアルバムで、傑作です。最初、聴いた時は「何でこのアルバムがそんなに売れるのかな？」と思いましたが、何回か聴いてるうちに大好きになりました。４年も掛けて作ったアルバムなので、さすがに全曲充実してます。個人的には３曲目“Animal”、４曲目“Love Bites”、１０曲目“Hysteria”が特に好きです。聴いたことがない人には、とにかく聴いてもらいたいです。

１９９２年発表の５枚目。前作の延長線上の作風ですが、少しコンパクトで明るい曲が多い気がします。３枚目のPyromaniaの方が世間的に評価が高いですが、個人的にはこのアルバムの方が好きです（Pyromaniaも名盤）。確か５曲目の“White Lightning”は、このアルバムの発表前に亡くなったギタリストに捧げられた曲だったと思います。このアルバムも高品質で捨て曲なしです。６曲目“Stand up (kick love into motion)”が大好きです。
Vault: Greatest Hits：初めての人はこのベストアルバムもおすすめ。このアルバムにしか収録されてない“When Love & Hate Collide”は名曲。
