ANTHRAX
かつてスラッシュメタル四天王と呼ばれたバンドの一つ（他はMETALLICA、MEGADETH、SLAYER）。４つのバンドの中では最も知名度が低いかも知れませんが、ノリの良さは１番だと思います。ちなみにバンド名を訳すと「炭疽菌」です。

２００４年発表のライブＣＤ＆ＤＶＤ。現在のANTHRAXを知るには最適だと思います。個人的にはそれほど好きではない最近の曲もＤＶＤで映像と合わせて聴くとそれほど悪くないなと思いました。ＤＶＤの１６曲目はラップのPUBLIC ENEMYのカヴァー。さらに、その後にMETALLICAのカヴァーも入ってる辺りがこのバンドらしいです。
１９９３年発表の６枚目。ビルボード初登場７位。ヴォーカルが現在のジョン・ブッシュに代わってからの初めてのアルバム。アルバムの最初から最後まで速さよりも重さに比重が置かれた曲が並びます。スラッシュメタルとは少し感じが違いますが、どの曲もアグレッシブで完成度は高いので、このアルバムはおすすめです。
１９８５年発表の２枚目。このアルバムからの曲は上のライブアルバムには全く入ってませんが、名曲が目白押しの名盤です。１曲目“A.I.R.”、３曲目“Madhouse”は人気の高い曲です。８曲目の“Medusa”が個人的には好きです。スラッシュメタル時代のANTHRAXを知るには、まずこのアルバムがおすすめです。
